One word about terminology - in case you're wondering: There are no chromopolis players yet, only test players. Chromopolis is still in its beta phase, so nothing about the game can be taken for granted. Sometimes the sync engine may hang, sometimes your browser may display garbage. That's why Chromopolis has a version number lower than 1.0 (or 1.1, as you developers out there surely know...) In short: The game works, but don't count on it.
You need an internet connection and a web browser. For Chromopolis, we recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (included in Microsoft Windows XP), although other current browsers should work as well. Please set your caching options to reload web pages on each visit. In IE, this is accomplished via Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings.
One word about screen resolution: HIGH. Chromopolis provides you with quite some information. You screen resolution should be at least 1024*768 pixels. For best results, use 1280*1024, if your graphics adapter, monitor (and eyes) can stand it.
That's all you need. Leave your wallet at home. Chromopolis is free.
If you want to play Chromopolis, there are just 2 easy steps you have to take: Register and Signup. If you already have a user account here, you can skip step 1 of course.
1. Get a user account here. Go to the register page and get access. You can make up any user name you like (as long as it's not been taken yet). Without the user account, step 2 will not work.
2. Sign up for one of the upcoming Chomopolis games - you can find the list here. There's a special signup page to get into the queue where you can state the name of your Gang Lord and the name of your Gang. If there are more signups than actual slots for players in the city you selected, it's strictly First Come, first served. So signing up is no guarantee for playing, it's just an entry in a queue. Select another city.
Everything else is automatic. No magic. We promise.
