Chromopolis - The Near Future Urban Combat Strategy Game What is Chromopolis? 
Chromopolis is an Online Strategy Game. You take the role of a 21st century Cyberpunk Gang Lord, trying to take control of the City. You are in command of several different unit and vehicle types, engaging in state-of-the-art Urban Combat. Your enemies are The Almighty System with its Police Units, Armed Forces and Militia Soldiers, the ever-present pain-in-the-ass Nomad Packs and of course... the other Gang Lords trying to achieve the same goal. You can choose to fight your way through - or perhaps use the in-game messenger to communicate with your allies and enemies - maybe these guys aren't so rotten after all. Maybe you can use them for your own ends... And if the going gets really tough - it's also helpful to know someone who's with one of the huge MegaCorporations. They rule this City anyway, but they forgot to tell the mayor about it... whatever way, you have to face one thing: This option might cost you more than you can pay. Are you desperate enough to play with the really big boys? Who's supposed to play this? Me? Why? Chromopolis is not a single big game with thousands of users. It is designed to be a collection of many independent games running on the same server. This makes it possible for you to set up your own game and invite friends to play. When designing Chromopolis, we had an Online Game in mind that wouldn't force you to be online as often as possible just to gain small advantages over other players - collecting points and the like. It's even FREE. The Chromopolis syncronization engine ensures that the game is running at the same speed for all players, giving everyone the same chances. Also, the game administrator can set the maximum phase length when creating a new game, controlling the overall pace. This makes for comfortable gaming for people who usually wouldn't have the time to take part in an online game. Sounds familiar? Online more than twice a day just to stay on the edge? Not here. Usually it's 5 minutes every three days - you can spend more time if you want, but you don't have to. You don't even need to download any software to play Chromopolis - all you need is your Web Browser, and you're ready to go! By the way: Of all the current browsers out there, only Internet Explorer 8 has trouble rendering some advanced JavaScript occasionally, all others seem to be fine. So no problems known with Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE5-IE7. So get your User account here and sign up for the next game starting here! Where do I find the available games?
