Alternate Character Generation Rules for Cyberpunk 2020
Spice up your life(path)! No, this is no homegrown stuff like In The Line of Fire or Tools of the Trade, we found it somewhere on the internet. As that was years ago, I don't have a clue where exactly it was. Most probably that site has disappeared anyway like so many others. I'm sure the original author (Gary Astleford aka ocelot) won't mind us putting it on this site. (Am I?) --> Update: Gary contacted me recently. I learnt that the original version is to be found at this URL and is a part of mockery's cyberpunk page. Still, I like our print layout better ;-) Maybe I'll even finish the German translation some day, there's just a few tables left... The rules include buying advantages and disadvantages for your character (influencing the number of skill points you get to spend), they kick the concept of roles (finally!), and the lifepath options are far more detailed than the original ones. In short: They make REAL characters, not slighty modified archetypes. |
